2/12/2018 0 Comments February 12th, 2018 This week's artist is Eric Carle. His artworks aren't just made to look reminiscent of a children's book, his drawings ARE reminiscent of a children's book. His art style is known and featured by many when introducing children to reading. This picture of his more renowned works, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," is one such work.

2/9/2018 0 Comments February 08th, 2018 This was an assignment that I had to do this week. It involves photo manipulation. It's fairly decent, but I feel like I could have done this better. For instance, if I had more time on this assignment, I would most likely put color into this photo, as well as lighten the subject's face.
2/7/2018 0 Comments February 07th, 2018 After the last two posts pertaining to children's book illustrations, I thought I would find another picture with the same topic. This picture was an entry in the Sharjah Children's book competition. Like Harper, the designs are very simplistic, using a variety of shapes and lines to tell a story.
2/7/2018 0 Comments February 06th, 2018 The drawing here is very reminiscent of what you would see in a children's book. It is because of this that Charley Harper has a high reputation in the art world. When one sees this, they are brought back to an innocent time in their life. This was the reaction that I had after viewing his work.
2/5/2018 0 Comments February 05th, 2018 The photo above is from this week's artist, an American modernist artist named Charles Harper. Although very different from Legno, both works share a similar trait in that they both focus on a single style or theme. With Legno, it was Japanese culture. With Harper, it's based on nature, using lines and shapes to portray it. It's a very noticeable style as it is reminiscent of the types of illustrations you would see in a children's book.
2/2/2018 0 Comments February 02nd, 2018 This is a photoshop art that I did earlier in the school semester. The reason as to why I chose to speak about this particular photo today is to comment on what I did right and what could change. So far, everything looks exceptional. My biggest pride about this is that I the original photo had a sunny, clear sky. The lightning and the rain were all made by me, but the biggest flaw that I see in this is toward the bottom right of the photo. It is very noticeable that part of the original background is showing through. It's a simple mistake that should be noted on for future projects.
