5/29/2018 0 Comments May 29th, 2018This photo was taken on Saturday night, when there was a power outage at the Plaza Bonita Mall. Despite the lack of lighting in the mall at that moment, the photographer managed to do a good job at keeping the lighting relevant. The mood of this photo is also something to be noted. The fact that only a small group are the only ones in an otherwise crowded area gives a scene reminiscent of the apocalypse.

5/25/2018 0 Comments May 25th, 2018 This was one of the artworks shown in last year's MOPA competition. Despite it being portrayed on a 2D portrait, the subject and the positioning of the lines gives the illusion of it popping out of the canvas. It creates a sense of alarm in the viewer, as it gives them the impression that the canvas will burst at any time.

5/23/2018 0 Comments May 23rd, 2018Digital media is very interesting. You have images such as this one that look pleasing to the eye, due to its immense amount of color used. The fact that all of this was made using only a blend of lines is astounding. Art is cool.
5/21/2018 0 Comments May 21st, 2018This week's artist is Dave Mckean. Like the previous 3, he deals with digital media. What makes him unique is that his works tend to portray images reminiscent of a horror movie/film. It is very distinct. The subject of his artworks, as well as the font he uses to accompany it all blend well together.
5/18/2018 0 Comments Artist's ReflectionFor as long as I could remember, I have always had a fascination with the piano. I remember the days spent sitting on a high chair, banging away at the keys, much to my parent's annoyance. Since my journey of learning the instrument, I have been accompanied by my trusty companion, Chaoko. He was always there as a form of encouragement during times of frustration and despair.

His glowing orange eyes. A cold sensation crawled down Stormy's spine as he prepared for the long night ahead.
Fanfic's aside, I like how the background was blurred, bringing focus to the two box-figures. 5/16/2018 0 Comments May 16th, 2018This was the drawing I voted for for the Doodle4Google competition. Upon viewing the piece, I found myself relating heavily to the topic. It evoked a sense of longing within me, bringing forth memories of the times when I would camp in the wilderness. I found it clever as to how the Google logo is neatly interwoven within the fire smoke, in addition to how simplistic the drawing is. It's not overloaded with objects, and it gets the point across. The artist's description of his work also complements the topic of the drawing very well. It connects what he drew with himself, allowing for the viewer to relate to the artist themself in addition to their artwork.
5/15/2018 0 Comments May 15th, 2018This week's artist is Jan Brett, who is well known for making multiple children's books. When compared to Mucha from last week, it can be concluded that their art styles are very similar. Both artists rely on a form of digital media as a method of art.
