1/31/2018 0 Comments January 31st, 2018 Because of Legno's creations, I decided to mention another Japanese themed brand: Sanrio.
Sanrio was made by Shintaro Shuji. Unlike Legno, Shuji is a native to the nation in which this brand is based on. If you look at the picture, you may recognize 1 or more of the famous characters, such as hello kitty. This brand has become famous worldwide, just like the Tokidoki franchise. Just like with the Tokidoki Franchise, I like the cutesy design of each character, as well as how simple the design is. I've always been a fan of Japanese anime because of designs like this.

1/30/2018 0 Comments January 30th, 2018 I am running out of photos to talk about...
The given photo is a computer art depicting my first attempt at making a poly-shaped landscape picture. For my first try, it's not that bad, but there could be many improvements on it. For instance, I feel as if using a rainbow colored gradient to outline the triangles detracts from the picture itself. With a little more work, I feel that this same work could be made into something extraordinary. 1/29/2018 0 Comments Week 3: January 29th, 2018 This week's artist is Simone Legno. The picture shown above is from a well known brand from him, known as "tokidoki." Despite Legno's italian origin, his work is well known for its roots in Japanese culture. This is a valuable lesson is how inspiration comes a long way in influencing one's work.
1/26/2018 0 Comments January 26th, 2018 This is a vector design I did, or at least I followed through with. Most of the credit goes to a youtuber named "Tutvid" who is known for his step-by-step tutorials on vector illustration. Although this is not an original work, the picture shown above was indeed replicated by me.
1/25/2018 0 Comments January 25th, 2018 This is a vector illustration done by one of my friends in high school. It's very well made and I hope to one create an artwork similar to this. Much time was spent into making this piece, such as generating each individual shape to make the mountains and trees.

Self Grade
Weeks 1 & 2 -> 9/10 Press Release -> 9/10 The work is good, but I don't feel that it is competition level. 1/23/2018 0 Comments January 23rd, 2018 Another artwork by Steiber, this piece is commended for, once again, using the "electric realism" style. A more in depth explanation as to what this art style is, it mainly involves the use of photos that may have been taken normally, and altered by using bright, vivid colors to highlight the background or other subjects in the painting. In a way, it is a similar arch-type to photorealism.
1/23/2018 0 Comments Week 2: January 22, 2018 This week's artist is Sara Steiber. She is an artist who has recently started gaining popularity in the art world. She is renowned for her distinct style, combining photorealism with intense colors. This style, dubbed "electric realism," is what caused the surge in popularity.
