9/15/2017 0 Comments September 15th, 2017 Before we go into our two week break, I though I should make today's artwork about the next coming event: Halloween.
The picture is by an unknown artist, but is very straightforward and precise. I like the small details of the flies buzzing around the pumpkin, and how each color in the background does not draw attention away from the main subject of the piece.

9/14/2017 0 Comments September 14th, 2017 Today's artwork is done by this week's artist, Shepard Fairey. Every American should know who the subject of this picture is. Fairey specializes is reference art, or taking an already made work, such as a photo or painting, and adding his own style to it.
9/13/2017 0 Comments September 13th, 2017 Previously, I covered water paintings and traditional paintings, as well as various other forms of art, but I do not recall doing one on the topic of oil paintings.
Here is an oil painting titled, "The Fighting Temeraire" by Turner, Joseph Mallord William. during the time it was made, it was very difficult to convey warm colors like this painting shows, as the oil paints took a very long time to dry. It is because of this that this artist was very skillful for his work. It stays true to the mood its colors bring. 9/12/2017 0 Comments September 12th, 2017 This was a work done by me. Here, i tried replicating the classic sprite from Super Mario. I mainly used the original picture as a reference, but i made the background myself. For my first attempt at pixel art, I am confident that this turned out better than I thought. The making of this piece was very straightforward as I colored every pixel piece by piece.
9/11/2017 0 Comments September 11th, 2017 Honoring, the events that happened in September 11, 2001, we have a painting made by Gerhard Richter. Taking a look, it can be seen why this picture bears a strong connotation towards 9/11. Despite being blurred, it depicts the twin towers. This is cleverly portrayed through the scratches throughout the piece.
9/8/2017 0 Comments September 08th, 2017 I usually don't enjoy sharing pictures from my private life, but I needed something to criticize, so...
This picture was taken by Mikko Benaso during his middle school years in 2015. It depicts him staring out into the sunset on a small cliff. While the angle of the shot is taken well, and the glare of the sun is positioned well, there are some aspects that need to be improved on. For instance, the subject (Mikko) should be more towards the center. The people shown near the Oceanside divert the viewer's attention. 9/6/2017 0 Comments September 06th, 2017 Lingering on the topic of the fall season, here we have a painting of a fox. In addition to this being one of my favorite animals, it is also deeply associated with the spring season. Similar to the last mentioned painting, we see a recurrence of warm colors, particularly colors of the orange hue.
9/5/2017 0 Comments September 05th, 2017 Marking the end of summer, I decided to write about this painting depicting autumn. The artist and the name of this painting is unknown, but you can see a recurrence of warm colors, such as a mixing between reds, oranges, and yellows. This is contrasted with the dark blues in the background, creating a warm, yet somber, mood.
9/1/2017 0 Comments September 01st, 2017 The piece shown here is a form of art known as hyper-realism. It's an art style that emphasizes its details and subjects, which usually consist of sculptures. This form of art is an advancement of photo realism. And was popularized in Europe and the United States during the early 1970s.
