4/30/2018 0 Comments April 30th, 2018 This is 3-D art. It uses various techniques such as shaping and shadowing in order to create an illusion of the image popping out of the canvas. This drawing is one such example. Notice how the image itself is a normal 2-D image. The artist merely used shadows (as seen in the outlines of the subject) to make it appear 3-D.

4/27/2018 0 Comments April 27th, 2018 This is a very beautiful picture. The setting sun is positioned perfectly between the branches of the tree. The photo was taken at the right time of the day, so less attention is drawn from the blacks of the landmass, and is instead directed to the hues of colors seen in the sky. This photo has the perfect execution of composition.
4/26/2018 0 Comments April 26th, 2018 Surrealism depicts object in real life as an abstract form. This is one such example. Fitting the same archetype as Dali's this painting shows everyday objects- a normal businessman and an apple- and throws them together to create the image shown. It seems like a normal picture at first, but the way the apple hides the man's face creates a very illusionary image.
4/25/2018 0 Comments April 25th, 2018 I like the color that is incorporated into this artwork. The hues of orange and yellows and reds make a clear depiction of a sunset. The landmass at the righthand part of the painting only gives enough context that allows the viewer to interpret what it actually is. One may see it as a lighthouse, others may see it as a castle, or a church.
4/24/2018 0 Comments April 24th, 2018 More on Dali, this is one of his famous photos in which it took about 20 attempts to take. The chaotic s appeal that the photo radiates is its main appeal, as it gives it a comedic tone. The viewer upon glancing upon each element in the picture would most likely find themselves scratching their heads, wondering what is happening.
4/20/2018 0 Comments April 20th, 2018 Upon further observing Picasso's paintings, I've come to realize how easy it was for these paintings to be considered "high end art" back then. Perhaps it was because the concept was still fresh at the time, but today, these standards have risen dramatically. Now, any artworks that are similar to this, or even another author's isn't exactly held in a high regard.
4/19/2018 0 Comments April 19th, 2018 As the topic of this week is cubism, I decide to pick this due to its unique qualities that pertain to the subject. To start off, you can already tell this is a modern take on the old art style, along with how it's a reference to a very famous cartoon.
4/19/2018 0 Comments April 18, 2018 This is the photo-edited version of my entry for MOPA. I tried imitating an impressionist style art, as seen with the abundance of color. While the edit itself seems good, I feel that the picture itself could be improved upon. There needs to be a bigger emphasis on the stuffed animal and the piano, and it needs to be shot at a better angle. Other than that, this is a very good concept that has potential to be made into something special.
4/17/2018 0 Comments April 17th, 2018 This is another one of Picasso's works, in his later career. Compared to the last one, you can easily see how dramatically his art-style changed. For its time, I like how it has a more unique flair to it and while just a jumble of shapes, they come together to make a figure and a theme.
