It is a simple, yet meaningful drawing was unique during its time as it was one of the first paintings to utilize light and shadow effects.

8/15/2017 0 Comments August 15th, 2017 The painting portrayed here is from an art genre known as "realist" art. Originating after the French Revolution, the purpose of this art genre is to portray realistic scenarios in everyday life, a significant difference compared to its preceding genre of emotionalism. The artist of this piece is by Willem Claesz Heda, a dutch painter who created this painting called"Banquet Piece with Mince Pie"
8/14/2017 0 Comments August 14th, 2017 The painting here is a water painting by Guy Corriero. Here, we have a water painting of... well... water. More specifically, waves at the beach. We see this as the main focus of the piece, with a faint sunset in the background.
8/11/2017 0 Comments August 11th, 2017 This is a painting done using wood block art by artist Hokusai. It was made during Japan's late edo period and is seen as one of his most renowned works. In the background, we have mt. Fuji in the distance and in the foreground, a giant tidal wave is seen threatening multiple rowboats.
8/10/2017 0 Comments August 10th, 2017 This photo was taken by Ansel Adams. A photographer specializing in wilderness and preservation and an environmental folk hero to locals. Despite the lack of color, the photo has a lot of detail. We see what looks like a sunrise at the top right quadrant, emphasizing that particular portion of the photo. In the background, we see the plains of a desert.
8/9/2017 0 Comments August 09th, 2017 Today, we have a new form of art: pixel art. This type of art is usually 3D printed from a computer. Here, we have a pixel art of one of my favorite characters from its series.
To me, I feel this is well made because of the little details put into it. I remember a time when I attempted doing a similar work to this and it was extremely difficult because of how precise you need to be with the cursor. A slight jerk of the hand and the entire work is ruined. 8/7/2017 0 Comments August 07th, 2017 The painting shown here is inspired from the famous animation "Your Lie in April." the show itself is claimed by many to be a masterpiece. It is a very sad series that contains deep characters and a heavy story. This along with the combination of classical music being a theme makes it very understandable as to why many people enjoy it.
8/4/2017 0 Comments August 4, 2017 Adding on to fanart, here we have a paining from another anonymous author with the pen name "Sagittariusgallery." I chose this painting because it evokes fond memories of my childhood. Many people know the character in the film from the Studio Ghibli film, "My Neighbor Totoro" along with the background of the piece being from Vincent Van Gough's "Starry Night."
8/2/2017 0 Comments August 2, 2017 The artist of this piece has not revealed his name, but he is known on social media as "Freeze-ex." I had the honor of meeting him in person in Anime Expo 2017. He makes a lot of fanart from well known Japanese animes. The picture shown above is hand drawn and is from the famous series "Touhou Project." If you are familiar with how anime is drawn, you can tell that this is very well drawn. Those who are familiar with the series can appreciate the small details shown in each corner of the drawing.
8/1/2017 0 Comments August 1, 2017 The artwork shown today should be fairly recognizable to anyone familiar with U.S. history. The title of the piece is labeled "Freedom From Want" and depicts a family sitting at a Thanksgiving dinner. The creator is known as Normal Rockwell and he is famous for other noteworthy paintings that he's made. His creations mainly consist of artwork from World War II.
