10/20/2017 0 Comments October 18, 2017On the topic of Freida Kahlo, here we have another artwork that follows the same genres of works that she usually deals with: magical realism. The genre of magical realism involves the ordinary world, with fantasy elements mixed in, to the point of it looking realistic.

10/20/2017 0 Comments October 17, 2017This is my attempt at creating pop art out of an original photo. It took several tries, but this was my best attempt. I chose to keep the colors more or less the same for the sake of relevancy.
10/16/2017 0 Comments October 16th, 2017 This week's artist is Freida Kahlo. She is an artist similar to Diego Rivera in that her art is usually representative in her culture, This piece is an example where she uses the genre of magical realism which originated in Latin America. This piece in particular is special in that she uses the symbolism made by the dead animals to describe the event that happened at that time: when she got involved in a car accident.
10/13/2017 0 Comments October 13th, 2017 This week's artist is Diego Rivera. he is known for his art in murals, as well as its representation in its culture. Here, we see many instances of different cultures, and even some illusions to history. In the background, we see a combination of Greek gods in combination with what looks like soldiers from World War II. This, is only a part of the many references that fill this painting.
10/12/2017 0 Comments October 12th, 2017 This was my attempt at the paintbrush design that Jared did. In my opinion, I think it went out fairly well, but I will admit that there is still some improvements to be made with my work. I do like how it has a sort of vintage appearance, but I feel as if more space can be filled in between the picture itself and the surrounding background.
10/10/2017 0 Comments October 10th, 2017 This is a picture that my friend Jared Luzano posted on our class website. In it, he included a tutorial of how to make works similar to it. I find it very unique as it is done in a simple style, yet utilizes a variety of different colors which complement the background.
10/6/2017 0 Comments October 06th, 2017 If you remember the artwork I did on Freeze-Ex, then this art-style should be familiar. The reason why I chose piece in particular is because this artwork is special to me: When I had the honor of meeting the artist himself in Anime-Expo, this was the particular artwork I bough from him, along with three other of his works. It goes without saying that ever since I laid eyes on it, i've been a big fan of his art-style.
The elements I love about this piece are that it features many iconic characters from the nintendo series in a unique art design. 10/5/2017 0 Comments October 05th, 2017 Continuing on with the topic of color, here we have a good example. This painting is a form of splatter art, and utilizes a variety of colors to create a bright and vibrant image. In the center of the piece, you can see that the colors start to blend, making something similar to the inverted colors you might see in photos.
10/4/2017 0 Comments October 04th, 2017 This week's artist is Peter Max, is an American artist most noted for his usage of bright, vibrant colors in his works. He has made famous artworks for popular brands such as the cover art for "The Voice" and a remake of a picture of Obama.
